WATER IS LIFE

Because we can't replenish it when we sleep, it's important to rehydrate as soon as we wake.

I know that as soon as I drink my first sip in the morning I go from a wilted plant to one that has just been rejuvenated by the rain. And as I continue my intake throughout the day it helps me to keep my mind clear and my body in motion.

ITS ROLE IN THE BODY

-cellular metabolism

-temp regulation

-transportation of nutrients

-clearing of cell waste

-maintaining homeostasis

-digestion

-balancing pH

-waste elimination

-oxygen delivery

Because water is life. Your life. My life. All of life on this planet - 50-70% of you, more than half, is water.

The major organ systems and structures of the body are largely water and rely on adequate hydration for full function.

The top 3 survival needs for humans are food, shelter, and water. Humans can last up to 3-4 weeks without food, but only approximately 3-4 days without water.

HOW TO MONITOR YOUR HYDRATION

Check your thirst - feeling thirsty doesn't just mean you need water. It means you've needed it for a while. Thirst is your body's way of saying that it's been toooo long!

Check your pee - what color is your pee when you wake up and then throughout the day? Generally speaking, a pale yellow means you are well-hydrated; dark yellow + going infrequently suggests dehydration.

YOUR KEY TAKEAWAY

Your best source of water, is water.
